The Monmouth College swim team got the new year started on the right foot winning 15 of 24 events to sweep North Central on Saturday.

Gabe Baginski completed the two event winners for Monmouth. He was nearly two seconds faster than the nearest competition in the 50 freestyle, clocking a 22.58. His 5:15.29 easily placed him first in the 500 free.
Other individual wins were turned in by Zach Heilman in the 200 IM (2:20.54) and Erin Willhite in the 100 free (57.59).
Monmouth’s women also swept the relays. McAloon, Henby, Willhite and Dani Gordon began the meet with a win in the 200 medley relay. They out-touched North Central in 2:00.64, winning by three one-hundredths. The same foursome had a larger margin in winning the 200 freestyle relay, clocking a 1:48.87 to win by seven seconds.
Baginski and Heilman teamed with Brett Dunn and Neal Hosper to win the men’s 200 medley relay. Their time of 1:48.42 won by four seconds.
