Box Score Zipporah Williams becoming only the eighth Fighting Scot woman to score 1,000 points wasn't enough to keep Monmouth from falling to Cornell 71-53.
The Rams inched their way to a double-digit lead late in the first half and then pulled away in the second 20 minutes. Monmouth fought through a cold-shooting first half but entered the locker room trailing 33-21.
Monmouth heated up slightly in the second half, but found themselves trailing 42-26 just four minutes into the final session. The Scots climbed back to within nine twice on buckets from Kim Coleman and Marla Willard, but could get no closer as the Rams regained a double-digit lead, pushing the Scots into third place in the conference standings.
