Scots' strong team effort chops down Foresters 63-49

Box Score Monmouth led for the final 33 minutes in a 63-49 win over Lake Forest.
Once the Fighting Scots took the lead on Jon Calhoun’s 3-pointer with 13:46 left in the first half, the squad never looked back. Calhoun scored all nine of his points in the first half as Monmouth gradually built the lead. The Scots scored the last three buckets of the first half, taking a 10-point lead into the locker room on Wes Dukeman’s bucket just before intermission. The Scots held the Foresters to just 22 percent shooting in the first 20 minutes for a 26-16 lead.
Lake Forest could only get the hole down to nine three times in the second half before Monmouth surged out to a 51-34 lead on Mike DeDecker’s 3-pointer with 9:40 left. The Foresters rallied to cut the margin to 12 at 51-13, but the Scots the went on a 12-1 run to put the game away.
Dukeman was the only Scot to score in double figures, pouring in 13 points as 11 different Scots scored.
