Women win record-setting eighth straight, down Carroll to stay atop MWC

Box Score Monmouth won their school-record eighth straight game, rolling by Carroll University 62-45 at Glennie Gym.
The Fighting Scots jumped out to a 7-0 lead and never trailed, taking a 14-point 31-17 lead at halftime on Zipporah Williams’ bucket inside. The senior finished with her fourth double-double this season, putting in 12 points and ripping down 17 rebounds. Her steal to start the second half was converted into points by Paige Nord as Monmouth never led by less than 13 points in the second half.
Kathleen Forrest’s layup with 12:38 left in the game staked the Scots to a 19 point lead. Her older sister Colleen Forrest gave Monmouth a 20 point lead with five minutes to go on second 3-pointer of the game.
Thirteen Scots saw action as 10 scored. Nord and Kaley Corban joined Williams as the team’s only double-digit scores as each had 10 points. Monmouth held the Pioneers to just 14-of-60 shooting.
