Box Score Monmouth tied the school record with their seventh straight win in a 57-45 victory over Grinnell at Glennie Gym.
The Scots used a 13-3 run over the last 6:30 of the first half to take control and enter the locker room with a 28-22 lead. Kathleen Forrest’s 3-pointer started the Monmouth barrage and Marla Willard pumped in four of her team-high 18 points and pulled down three of her 11 rebounds during the stretch to finish with a double-double.
The Scots never trailed in the second half, stretching their lead to 17 on a pair of Jacquice Cooper free throws with 2:20 left.
The win put Monmouth atop the Midwest Conference standings at 3-0.
