Chad Braun serves as the defensive coordinator for the Fighting Scots.
The first assistant coach hired by football coach Steve Bell in 2000, Braun’s 2004 defensive unit tied the school’s modern day record with four shutouts that season. In 2005, the team scored a school record three TDs off interceptions.
A fiery competitor, Braun was an All-MWC performer at Illinois College and brings that intensity to his defensive game plan. Under Braun's direction, Monmouth's defensive unit has become known as a hard-hitting, swarming defense. They live by the mantra of "everybody gets a hat on the ball."
Braun earned his master’s degree in physical education/sports management from Western Illinois University. He resides in Monmouth with his wife Jen and their four children.
