Marco Aona, a 2026 Monmouth College graduate, joined the Fighting Scots as a volunteer soccer coach for the 2026 seasons. He will work with both the men's and women's teams, focusing on goalkeeper training.Â
Aona worked as a volunteer assistant coach at Carl Sandburg in 2023-24, helping the men's team to an Arrowhead Conference title in 2024. He played at Concord University in 2021 before transferring to Sandburg.Â
A native of Brazil, Aona attended Colegio Objetivo Prime before coming to the United States for college. While at Monmouth last year, he worked in the Sports Information Department was a vital piece to the team. He gained experience in video production and streaming, camera work and statistics for nearly all of Monmouth's teams. Aona graduated in May 2026 with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing
Coach lives in Monmouth with his wife, Grace and he enjoys music, playing five different instruments.Â
