Dan Evers '18, a two-time national champion, brings his expertise to the coaching ranks, joining the staff at the start of the 2019 season. Now in his third year on the coaching staff, the six-time All-American with nine conference crowns, works with the jumpers.
As a senior, Evers capped his climb up the ranks with a pair of national pole vault titles while breaking the indoor and outdoor school records along the way. In his final season, Evers became just the third Fighting Scot to win a pair of NCAA crowns, joining Jonny Henkins (PV) and James Wilson (LJ) as two-time national champions. Evers cleared a school record 17'7-1/4" in the indoor vault in Birmingham, Ala., to win his first national title, then added the outdoor crown just three months later in La Crosse, Wis., with an outdoor school record of 17'8-1/2".
Evers, one of only four Scots in program history to clear 17' in the pole vault, didn't just excel in his signature event where he claimed six of a possible eight Midwest Conference crowns. The talented jumper also earned three long jump titles.
