Neil Mecagni joined the Monmouth athletic department as the Equipment Manager in August 2018 and transitioned to full time assistant baseball coach in fall of 2025. A Monmouth College alum (2011), Mecagni worked for Coach Roger Sander in the equipment room as a student worker and also gained experience working in the training room with Bob Foster. Mecagni was a member of the Monmouth baseball team (2008-11) and pitched in 15 combined games over his last two seasons, 2010 and 2011.
Mecagni has worked with the baseball team, concentrating on the pitching staff since the 2022 season. His work with the pitchers and catchers helped the Scots qualify for the 2025 MWC Tournament.Â
Prior to joining the Scots as a full-time employee, Mecagni coached high school and youth baseball. He was the assistant coach at Sherrard High School (1012-15) and the head coach at Rockridge High School (2015-18). He also coached the Milan Legion team during that same period.Â
Mecagni, a Yankees fan, lives in Monmouth with his wife Renee (Monmouth alum) and their three daughters.Â
