The Monmouth College golf teams both prevailed on Monday in a tri-meet hosted by Blackburn College at Lincoln Greens Golf Course in Springfield. The men's team tied with Blackburn and beat Eureka while the women's team topped both squads.
Amanda Stevens (Mason City, Illinois) won the women's event with a 12-over 84 for a 3-shot win.
Sarah Saddoris (Port Byron, Illinois) finished third with a 91 while
Annalyn Lovell (Oneida, Illinois) was seventh with a 101.
Audrey Waller (Pekin, Illinois) shot a 106 to finish eighth, one spot ahead of
Lexie Campbell (Earlville, Illinois) who shot 109.
Sydney Grant (Morton, Illinois) and
Izzy McDermott (Evanston, Illinois) played as individuals with a 118 and 136 respectively.
Briggs Bossert (Evanston, Illinois) won the men's event with a 3-over 75, three strokes ahead of the next golfer.
Thomas Henson (Geneseo, Illinois),
Grant Foster (Galesburg, Illinois) and
Zackery Manley (Lincoln, Illinois) all tied for seventh with 82.
Carter Wilson (Washington, Illinois) shot an 85 for the final score in the men's team competition.
Gordon Kiesgen (Spring Grove, Illinois) and
Nick Maresco (Highland Park, Illinois) played as individuals with 92 and 112 respectively.
The Scots will next be in action at home this weekend with the two-day Fighting Scots Invite at Gibson Woods. Both teams will play at 1 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
