The Monmouth College men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Hilltop Classic on Friday night at Illinois College.
Kareema Lawal (Aurora, Illinois) and
Reed Wilson (Normal, Illinois) won individual events while numerous Scots delivered season bests.
Lawal won the weight throw with a career-best 16.22m performance. That distance ranks her atop the Midwest Conference so far this season and 23rd nationally among all Division III performers.
Wilson has won every pole vault event that he has competed in during this indoor season. Friday was no different with a 4.61m performance. He also finished eighth in the long jump with a season best 6.91m, ranking seventh so far this season in the MWC.
On the women's side,
Jordan Peckham (Farmington, Illinois) finished second in the 200m race at 26.22 and fourth in the 55m race at 7.48.
Kara Fisher (Monmouth, Illinois) was fourth in the 800m with a season best 2:27.22 time that ranks fourth in the MWC.
In the high jump,
Lauren Anderson (Cambridge, Illinois) and
Bethany Allen (Monmouth, Illinois) are now tied for second in the MWC as both cleared 1.51m on Friday.
Addi Cox (Morton, Illinois) turned in season best throws in both the shot put and the weight throw, finishing fourth in both events. Her 11.86m shot put ranks fifth in the MWC and her 14.53 weight throw is also fifth.
On the men's side,
Luke Ditsworth (Oquawka, Illinois) finished second in the 55m at 6.56 while
Patrick Shepherd (Peoria, Illinois) was third at 6.61. They rank second and third respectively in the MWC. The duo also both had season-best 200m runs with Ditsworth third at 22.99 and Shepherd fourth at 23.02.
Riley Dulin (Monmouth, Illinois) set a new career-best in the mile run at 4:19.99, finishing fourth. He beat his previous best time on the season by nearly five seconds and has the best mile time in the MWC this season by nearly eight seconds.
Alexander Brock (Lexington, Illinois) set a new season-best in the 400m at 52.75, the fourth best time in the MWC.
Maurice Greene (Galesburg, Illinois) now ranks fifth in the MWC in the triple jump after finishing third at 12.92m on Friday.
In the throwing events,
Andy Bird (Hamilton, Illinois) finished second in the shot put at 14.04m and third in the weight throw at 15.44. Both are season-bests and he ranks second in the MWC in the shot and third in the weight.
Caleb Toberman (Clifton, Illinois) finished second on Friday in the weight throw, tying his season best at 16.28m which ranks second in the MWC.
The Scots will compete next weekend in the two-day Midwest Conference Indoor Championships, hosted by Knox College. Knox is not allowing spectators to the event.
