Box Score 2 The Monmouth College women's tennis team saw a breakthrough win on Saturday as freshman
Jennifer Shimmin (Monmouth, Illinois) and senior Isa Perez (Chicago, Illinois) grabbed a win in doubles against Dubuque. Both picked up their first college win and did so as a doubles team to get the Scot on the board.
In the first match of the day, the Scots fell 9-0 to Wisconsin-Stout. At #4 singles,
Julia Mheidze (Springfield, Illinois) had the best singles performance with a 6-2, 6-0 loss. The nightcap was against the host University of Dubuque and the Scots fell 8-1. Shimmin/Perez won 8-2 at No. 3 doubles while
Isabel Hammond (Germantown Hills, Illinois) had the best singles performance against UD with a 6-4, 6-2 loss at No. 2 singles.Â
The Scots are next in action on Saturday, September 18 with the Midwest Conference opener at Lake Forest College.
