The Monmouth College cross country teams competed along side Division 1 opponents on Friday at the Bradley Pink Classic a Newman Golf Course in Peoria. Running in the first of two races for each gender on the day, the "white race," the men finished 12th and then women finished 14th.
On the men's side, seven Scots set new season bests with their times at the 8K course.
Riley Dulin (Monmouth, Illinois) finished 22nd overall with a season-best 26:12.7, a time that ranks him third among all Midwest Conference runners. Freshman
Will Plumley (Geneseo, Illinois) was next at 28:42.3 while CJ Bonifer (Columbia, Kentucky) set a season-best at 28:56.5. The other season bests for the Scots men came from

Xavion York (Palo Seco, Trinidad & Tobago),
Harrison Hicks (Spring Grove, Illinois),
Alex Urbina (Round Lake Beach, Illinois) and
Braden Bernas (Aurora, Illinois).

For the women,
Arika Hofmann (Monmouth, Illinois) was the top finisher with a season-best 23:46.2 that landed her in 28th place. That time is the seventh best in the Midwest Conference so far this season.
Ezzie Baltierra-Chavez (Denver, Colorado) was next at 24:39.3 while Mike Moore (Washington, Illinois) set a season-best at 24:48.5. The other new season best times from the women's team came from

Lindsay Eaton (Danvers, Illinois),
Carolina Cruz (Monmouth, Illinois),
Emma Wohlstadter (Macomb, Illinois) and
Lexi Shields (Viola, Illinois).
Scots Team Results
This was the final meet of the regular season for both the men and the women. Both teams will have next week off as they prepare for the Midwest Conference Championships in Ripon, Wisconsin on Saturday, Oct. 30. The top 20 finishers at that meet for both the women's and the men's races will be named All-Conference for the 2021 season.
