Monmouth's bid to break the program record with their seventh straight unbeaten match came to a halt at six Tuesday afternoon when the University of Dubuque handed the Scots their first defeat since October 23 of last season. The Scots entered the game 4-0-1 this season, but Dubuque took a 2-0 lead in the first half with goals in the 23^rd and 38^th minutes.
 
The Scots rallied in the second half, when Mikayla McCart and Jacie Reis found the net just two minutes apart to knot the game at 2-2. The Spartans answered just three minutes later to end the Scots' record-tying streak.
 
Monmouth will have a chance to begin another streak this weekend when they travel to Greenville for a 7 p.m. matchup Saturday night.
