Women Back in Win Column as Offense Erupts, in Second in MWC

Box Score Monmouth broke free from a two-game scoring drought, outshooting Illinois College 22-5 and pummeling the IC goalkeeper with 14 shots on goal, eventually ripping a pair second half goals in Friday's 3-0 win in Jacksonville.

Mikayla McCart gave the Scots all the goals they would need in the eighth minute, taking a feed from Jordyn Gosell and Kara-Jade Gordon. Gordon went on to score an insurance goal in the second half, netting her team-leading ninth goal in the 55th minute with an assist from Devin Cross who followed with a goal of her own minutes later.

Quin Cutler earned the win in goal to improve to 5-0-0 while Monmouth moved into second place in the Midwest Conference standings, one point behind Knox. Monmouth begins a three-game home stand Oct. 19 with Lake Forest as part of Homecoming festivities at Monmouth.
