Becca Dabrowski was named to the all-tournament team after the Monmouth College women's water polo team wrapped up their season with a win in their final game at the season-ending Division III Varsity Tournament in Erie, Pa.
    Â
Named to the first team, Dabrowski scored 14 goals in three games, including a stellar eight-goal performance in a 15-3 win over Utica in Sunday's seventh-place game. The Scots never trailed against the Pioneers as freshman
Miranda Pasky put the Scots on top with a goal less than three minutes into the contest. Dabrowski followed 30 seconds later, but two straight goals by Utica knotted the game at 2-2 late in the first period. Dabrowski then scored the next two goals and a
Rachel Unger tally pushed Monmouth's lead to 5-2. Leading 8-3 at the half, Monmouth's defense didn't allow a goal in the final two quarters to end their season on a winning note and logged seven wins, the second-most in program history.
    Â
Entering the tournament as the No. 2 seed, the Scots were tripped up in their opening match with Washington and Jefferson. The Scots built a 3-2 halftime lead with goals from
Emily Mathews and Dabrowski after trailing 2-1 midway through the second quarter. A
Brenna Bowers goal late in the third quarter gave Monmouth a 4-3 lead before the Presidents scored back-to-back goals to regain the lead. After trading goals,
Brittany Lira's score with 4:55 left in the game knotted the contest at 6-6, but Washington and Jefferson found the next two scores to defeat the Scots 8-6.
    Â
It was another close loss in the tournament's second game when Penn State-Behrend edged the Scots 9-8 to send them to Sunday's seventh-place contest. The Lions broke free for three straight goals in the final eight minutes to clip the Scots, avenging a loss from earlier in the season.
    Â
Prior to the tournament Dabrowski, Pasky and goalkeeper
Natalie Curtis were named to the all-conference team. It was the third straight award for Curtis and Dabrowski's second.
