Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Monmouth kept the heat on with their return from Florida, running their winning streak to five with Sunday's 4-3, 2-0 wins at Fontbonne.
 
Liz Hippen fanned eight and pulled within one game of the career victories record with the opening game win. The Scots took advantage of four, two-out walks in the fourth inning to plate two runs ahead of the Griffins' three-run fifth. Fontbonne capitalized on a Scots' error to regain a 3-2 lead, but Monmouth answered in the next inning. Kirsti Barton opened the sixth with a base hit and Darcy Kepner followed with a double to right center. Gianna Drager's ground out plated Barton to knot the game at 3-3 before Kepner raced home on a passed ball to score the eventual winning run.
 
Cassidy Abbott tossed a complete game four-hit shutout in the nightcap. Kaelan Bradley's two-out base hit in the second scored Savannah Ball with the only run Abbott would need in her second straight shutout. The Scots added an insurance run in the fifth when Angela Schaumburg singles to left and then scored when Lauren Sperry drew a bases loaded walk. Abbott got out of a two on jam in the third, her only inning of trouble to even her record at 3-3.
 
The Scots open their home schedule with a 3 p.m. twinbill against Illinois Wesleyan Thursday.
