Monmouth's women's water polo team faced a tough trio of teams on their season opening weekend in Kenosha, Wis.
The Scots fell behind early in the opener, a 9-5 loss to Macalester. Trailing 4-0 late in the first half,
Becca Dabrowski broke the ice for Monmouth with 15 seconds left before the break. Monmouth closed to within one on freshman
Miranda Pasky's first career goal, cutting the margin to 6-5 midway through the fourth quarter.
Monmouth followed Saturday's opener with a 7-3 loss in the nightcap to host Carthage. Pasky netted her second goal of the day as the Scots took a 1-0 lead in the final minute of the first quarter. The hosts knotted the score as the second quarter opened and took a 2-1 lead in the final two minutes of the half and held off the Scots the rest of the way.
Dabrowski opened the scoring in Sunday's getaway game – a 17-7 loss to McKendree. Dabrowski scored just two minutes into the game, but McKendree took the lead two minutes later and used a big second and third quarter to run away with the contest.
Monmouth travels to New England for the Connecticut College Tournament Mar. 9-10.
