SCOTS SLIP INTO SECOND IN MWC WITH NARROW LOSS

Box Score Monmouth slipped to 1-1 in Midwest Conference play after a hard-fought 2-1 loss to St. Norbert Sunday at Peacock Memorial Athletic Park.

The Green Knights took the lead in the 18th minute and the score stayed that way until the Scots hit the tying goal less than a minute into the second half. Alex Izqueirdo took a feed from Natalie Wolski and deposited it in the back of the net to knot the game at 1-1. St. regained the lead for good just three minutes later to knock the Scots into a tie for second in the league.

Freshman goalkeeper Kensey Arlt logged seven saves for the Scots who slip to 6-4-0.

Monmouth wraps up their six-game home stand with a 1 p.m. match against Knox on Saturday.
