Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Justine Bodenhamer delivered the key hit as Monmouth pulled out a split at Augustana, taking the nightcap 4-3 after suffering a heartbreaking 2-1 loss in the opener.

Monmouth took an early 1-0 lead in Game 2 when Laura Dulee drove in Kirsti Barton with her first of two hits in the game in the first inning. The Vikings got the run back in the fourth and gained two more runs in the fifth to take a 3-1 lead before a Scots' rally. Monmouth picked up three straight hits to open the sixth as Rebecca Gallis' single brought home Maggie Hayes. With one out and runners at second and third, Bodenhamer delivered a two-run single plating Dulee and Gallis with the tying and go-ahead runs. Augustana threatened in the seventh with a runner at second and one out as the Scots reentered starter Zelinda Taylor who then induced a foul out and fanned the last batter to earn her team-leading fourth save of the season, giving Brianna Perschall the win.

The Scots led for much of Game 1, taking the lead when Caitlin Flary's batted ball was mishandled with two outs, allowing Bodenhamer to score the game's first run. Starter Liz Hippen then rolled, facing just three over the minimum until the sixth when Augustana delivered a one-out, two-run homer to pull ahead. The Scots had life in the seventh, putting their first two on, but couldn't bring them around, saddling Hippen with the hard-luck loss. 

Monmouth wraps up their season Saturday in Janesville, Wis., when they meet Lawrence in a Midwest Conference contest.
