Box Score 1 Laura Dulee hit a walk-off sac fly as Monmouth clipped Greenville 7-6 in a back-and-forth game Friday afternoon in the first game of a scheduled twinbill.
Â
Dulee's game-winning RBI came a half inning after the Panthers had taken a 6-5 lead. Monmouth took a 2-1 lead in the second on
Justine Bodenhamer's two-run double before Greenville retook the lead with solo runs in the fourth and fifth.
Â
Starting pitcher
Liz Hippen did not surrender an earned run until the seventh and was looking at a loss until the Scots' heroics in the bottom of the frame. Hippen helped her own cause leading off the seventh with a base hit before being replaced by pinch runner Kirsti Baron. Barton moved to second on a hit up the middle off the bat of
Rebecca Gallis and beat the throw to third off the bat of
Kaylee Kurtz to load the bases. Barton raced home with the tying run when
Chelsea Lee lofted a sac fly, one batter ahead of Dulee who brought Gallis home with the winning run to give Hippen her fourth win of the season.
Â
Game 2 was called in the bottom of the fourth when steady rain began to pour. No makeup date has yet been set.

The scots travel to Illinois Wesleyan for a nonconference doubleheader next Wednesday.
