Box Score Freshman goalkeeper Kensey Arlt turned in eight saves - plus two more in a Shootout - to make sure Monmouth would be playing for the Midwest Conference women's soccer title for the second time in program history after a thrilling win against top-seeded St. Norbert in a Shootout on the Green Knights' home turf.

Tied at 1-1 through regulation, neither team could break through in the two overtime periods, sending the match into Shootout mode. Arlt stoned St. Norbert's first two shooters in the session as Monmouth jumped out to a 1-0 lead when Natalie Wolski - shooting first for the Scots - placed her shot in the upper right 90. After Hannah Kugler ripped her shot past tne Knights' keeper for a 2-0 lead, St. Norbert inched back when Arlt anticipated a shot to her right and the Knights went left to pull within one at 2-1 with one attempt left. The Scots advanced to the title tilt when the Knights' last shooter missed wide of her mark.

Seeded fourth, the Scots took an early lead midway through the first half when Kara-Jade Gordon notched the Scots' only goal, gathering a rebound of her own shot off the St. Norbert keeper and sending it to the back of the net for a 1-0 lead in the 23rd minute. The score stayed that way until the Green Knights connected on a penalty kick in the 78th minute to knot the game at 1-1.

Monmouth faces second-seeded Knox Saturday at 6 p.m. in De Pere, Wis., for a rematch with the Fire which defeated the Scots 1-0 in Monmouth on Sept. 30. The winner receives the league's automatic NCAA berth. Knox has won the last two meetings between the two schools. The championship match webcast will be available on MonmouthScots.com.
