Box Score The Fighting Scots downed the Lady Blues of Illinois College 5-3 in today's Midwest Conference match.

Through the first half of action, the Scots and the Blues remained nearly deadlocked.

The Lady Blues struck first in the 2' on the Mackenzie Bedgood goal. Monmouth quickly rallied to tie and take the lead as freshman Hayden DeLeeuw and sophomore Kara-Jade Gordon found the back of the net.

Illinois College would answer one more time in the first half to force the tie.

Then in the final minute of the half, key passes from Kara-Jade Gordon and Hannah Lingle found Natalie Wolski to give Monmouth the lead.

The Scots would never trail the remainder of the match, holding Illinois College to only one shot attempt in the second.

Monmouth moves to 8-5 overall, 3-2 in conference play.
