Box Score Monmouth out-shot UW-Platteville in a Saturday afternoon match to post a 2-1 win over the Pioneers..
 
The Fighting Scots headed north today for a non-conference match at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. 
 
The first half produced no goals for either team, although the Scots led in total shots 8-2.
 
In the 76^th minute the Pioneers managed to strike first as Kate Winther found the empty net and gave UW-Platteville the 1-0 lead.
 
It wouldn't take long for the Scots to strike back. Just three minutes later Andrea Correa found the back of the net off of the Darice Brooks pass.
 
Then in the 86^th minute Kara-Jade Gordon ended a tremendous run from deep midfield with a well-placed shot that gave the Scots the 2-1 advantage.
 
The Pioneers would not rally.
 
With the victory the Scots move to 3-2-1 on the year and will travel to the University of Dubuque on Wednesday for a 7pm, non-conference match.
