Box Score Monmouth outshot Millikin 17-9 and fired a pair of point blank shots in the match's first 30 seconds, but had to settle for a 1-1 tie Wednesday afternoon.
 
Neither team would budge in the first half as the game headed into halftime. The Big Blue took advantage of a corner kick in the 44^th minute, breaking the ice with the match's first goal for a 1-0 lead.
 
Monmouth's offense intensified the attack in the second half and cashed in on a contested ball in the 57^th minute to pull to a 1-1. Kara-Jade Gordon won the scramble at the top of the box and then slipped her shot by the Big Blue keeper for her team-leading fourth goal of the season.
 
The Scots, who put 13 of their shots on goal, fired a three-shot barrage at Millikin's keeper within a two minute span late in the game, but the Big Blue held.
 
Tied at 1-1 at the end of regulation, the game was called due to darkness.
 
The Scots next travel to UW-Platteville for a noon start this Saturday.
