Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Monmouth finished off a 3-1 Midwest Conference weekend with a 5-1, 8-7 sweep of Beloit Sunday afternoon.
 
The Scots gave Liz Hippen all the runs she would need in the first inning of the opener. Back-to-back walks to Kirstyn Ozga and Emily Watkins set the table as Michaela Guthrie's single drove in her first of two runs on the day. Johnna Schultz followed with a base hit, plating another run for a quick 2-0 lead. Monmouth plated their final run of the inning when Maggie Hayes' fly was mishandled for the 3-0 lead.
 
Hippen then went to work, fanning 12, just two shy of her own school record and scattered three hits, surrendering just one unearned run in the first of her two wins on the day.
 
Game 2 opened with another Monmouth three-run first as Guthrie knocked in another run with a base hit, but freshman Elena Sakellaropoulos supplied the big blow, a two-out, two-run single for a 3-1 lead. The Bucs responded with a four-run third, taking advantage of two hits and two walks in the frame and then added another run in the fourth to lead 7-4.
 
Monmouth answered, with a pair of runs in the fourth to cut the margin to one at 7-6. The Scots then knotted the game at 7-7 on back-to-back doubles by Sakellaropoulos and Hayes.
 
Ozga opened the sixth, reaching on an error and moved to second on Watkins' base hit. With one out, Ozga took advantage of throwing error when Watkins was forced at second, racing home on an errant throw to first to take an 8-7 lead. Hippen then closed out the game, earning the win with three innings of relief.
