Box Score Monmouth battled to the 90^th minute but came up just short in a 2-1 loss to Grinnell Saturday afternoon.
 
Trailing 2-0 after 75 minutes, the Scots rallied when Rhemingtin Rexrode and Natalie Wolski combined to feed Darice Brooks on a breakaway. Brooks beat the defenders and launched a rocket into the net to pull Monmouth within one at 2-1 in the 81^st minute.
 
The Scots kept the pressure on, but couldn't find the tying goal as time ran out despite putting six of their nine shots on goal.
 
Monmouth wraps up their season with a Sunday road trip to Rockford for a 2 p.m. contest.
