Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Monmouth found the key hits in the second game of the day at the Midwest Conference Classic, falling in the openr 6-1 to Lawrence before rebounding with an 11-1 win over Beloit.

Lawrence hit 2-run homers in three straight innings to hand the Scots a 6-1 loss in the day's first game. After threatening in th first two innings, the Vikings broke loose and began the power surge in the third after a leadoff walk. Monmouth put of a breif threat in the sixth, putting two runners on with two outs before a fly to center ended the inning. Kristen Dillon put the Scots on the boards with a solo homer in the seventh. Alyssa Edler took the loss giving up five hits in just ouver four innings of work.

The Scots erupted for five first inning runs in an 11-1 win over Beloit. Emily Watkins delivered a two-run homer as Monmouth put their first six batters on base. Winning pitcher Liz Hippen helped her cause, milking an RBI walk in the first inning and got support from Dillon and Taylor Smith who hit back-to-back sac flies. Monmouth ended the game via the mercy rule in the bottom of the fifth when they batted around, plating six runs on just four hits.

Monmouth will wrap up the Classic schedule Sunday with games agaisnt St. Norbert and Ripon.
