Box Score 2 Monmouth left Florida splitting Friday's games, winning the opener with Lakeland 8-4, but dropping the get-away game 6-3 to Simmons.

After spotting Lakeland a 2-0 lead through the first three innings, the Scots came back with two in the bottom of the third.
Kirsti Barton opened the inning with a hit to center and eventually scored on
Emily Watkins' base hit. After Watkins was forced at second,
Charlotte Park plated
Johnna Schultz with a double to right.

Park supplied the big blow in the Scots' five run fourth.
Kristen Dillon Maggie Hayes and Barton supplied back-to-back-to-back hits and Park cleared the bases with her second double of the game.
Liz Hippen picked up the win, scattering 11 hits.

The Scots spotted Simmons five runs in the first inning of the nightcap, but couldn't rally this time. After Simmons took the first inning lead, Park parked a solo homer to lead off the second and
Alyssa Edler came from the bullpen to keep Simmons in check.

Monmouth scratched out a pair of runs in the sixth on Hippen's double to right center after Park and
Morgan Throop picked up back-to-back two out hits. The threat ended when pinch runner
Carolyn Scherpe was stranded at third.

Park led the Scots' offense going 4-for-6 with 5 RBIs on day.
