Box Score Monmouth put nearly 90 percent of their shots on goal, but fell victim to an early goal at Grinnell in Saturday's 2-0 road loss.
 
The Pioneers punched in a goal in the second minute as the Scots had to battle from behind early. The Scots kept the Pioneers out of the goal for the next 30 minutes until Grinnell put in a rebound for the second goal of the game.
 
Monmouth fired off five second half shots, putting all but one on goal, but couldn't break the ice in Iowa. Led by Darice Brooks' three shots, all three on goal, the Scots put seven of their eight attempts on target.
