Second half outburst propels women past Fire

Box Score Monmouth scored early and often in the second half of a 4-0 win at Knox.

After missing on two shots from point blank range in the first half, Andrea Correa made the Prairie Fire pay just 53 seconds into the second half. Correa converted a feed from Alex Ivie to stake the Scots to a 1-0 lead. Monmouth scored again less than four minutes later on a goal by Unique Manns -- assisted by Kelsi Smith -- for a 2-0 lead.

Monmouth made it a 3-0 advantage when Lauren Towler scored off a corner kick by Darice Brooks at the 71:58 mark. Manns scored her second goal of the match a little over five minutes later with a direct kick.

The Scots outshot Knox 25-2 to even their Midwest Conference record at 1-1.
