Box Score St. Norbert scored the only run they would need in a 1-0 win over Monmouth in the opening game of the Midwest Conference Championships.

Alyssa Edler fanned six and twice worked out of 2-on, no out jams, but Monmouth's bats couldn't overcome the early deficit. The Scots managed just two hits inthe game, but opened the seventh with a leadoff walk for Caitlin Lingle. Lingle was eventually gunned down at third for the final out after a fly to right.

Monmouth will meet the loser of the Lake Forest vs. Lawrence game this afternoon at 2 p.m. in an elimination game.
