McNamara earns 100th win in season finale

Box Score The wait is over for Monmouth College women's soccer coach Barry McNamara after his team closed out the season with a 2-0 win over Beloit.

Now wrapping up his 12th year at the helm as the longest-serving coach of the women's team in the history of the program, McNamara picked up win No. 100 – ironically, against his alma mater. His teams have qualified for the Midwest Conference Tournament four times since 2005, finishing second last season.

McNamara's team finished off the season in style, but will miss the postseason this year for the first time in three years.

Tied 0-0 at halftime, the Scots broke the ice on Allie DeArvil's goal in the 56th minute. Lauren Kellen then added an insurance goal eight minutes later with her eighth goal of the season. The senior finished her career second on the all-time list with 59.

Monmouth kept the pressure on the Bucs throughout the game, outshooting Beloit 23-4, placing 14 shots on goal – eight by Kellen alone.
