Box Score Monmouth fought off an early deficit only to drop a 3-2 decision in double overtime at Ripon.
The Red Hawks scored in the first minute of play, but the Scots fought back in the second half. Trailing 1-0, Monmouth scored back-to-back goals in the first 15 minutes of the second session. An unasssited goal by
Kelsi Smith knotted the game at 1-1 less than five minutes into the final 45 minutes of regulation.
Darice Brooks then gave Monmouth a 2-1 lead with an unassisted gaol in the 58th minute.
The Scots' lead was short-lived when Ripon's Kaylee Tadych scored her first of two goals on the day just three minutes later to knot the game at 2-2. Tadych scored the game-winner in the second minute of the second overtime on the Red Hawks' first shot of the period.
Monmouth put more shots on goal than Ripon (12-11), but the Red Hawks outshot Monmouth 5-2 in the two overtime periods.
