Monmouth's men's water polo team upset the seeds on the final day of the CWPA Division III Championships, posting an 11-7 win over No. 5 seed Penn State-Behrend.
The Scots, seeded sixth, scored seven second half goals to take fifth place at the championships. Leading 4-3 at halftime, the Scots erupted with five goals in the third period, inlcuding back-to-back scores by All-Tournament selection

While the Monmouth offense was rolling, the defense held PSB to just one third period score to take a 9-4 lead into the final quarter en route to logging their second win of the season.
The Scots had fallen to a pair of ranked teams on Saturday. They opened play with a 17-3 loss to third-ranked MIT before dropping a 19-13 decision to No. 10 Washington and Jefferson.
