Scoring surge powers Scots past Kohawks

Box Score
After a string of games decided by one goal, Monmouth left nothing to chance in a 4-1 win over Coe.

Playing in cold, wet conditions, the Fighting Scots used their team speed to slip past the Kohawks' defense on their first two scores. Darice Brooks scored from Unique Manns' pass on a give-and-go to break the ice in the seventh minute. Manns was then on the receiving end when defender Emily Flint cleared the ball to Lauren Kellen who in turn hit Manns in stride on a break away for a 2-0 lead in the 22nd minute.

Monmouth took a three goal lead just before half when Alex Ivie fed the Scots' leading scorer for her sixth goal of the season. Kellen added an insurance goal late in the game to make it 4-0 before the Kohawks found the back of the net on a scramble after a corner kick.

Coe outshot Monmouth 11-9, firing off 10 shots in the second half.
