After a scoreless first half that saw the teams combine for seven shots on goal, the game's first tally came off a defender. A Fighting Scot corner kick was deflected off a Dutch defender and into the net in the 51^st minute, giving Monmouth a 1-0 lead. Central's Alayna Bailey then deflected a rolling corner kick into the net to knot the game at 1-1.

An unassisted goal by Alyssa Fuller gave Central the lead in the 77^th minute and Bailey added an insurance goal as time was winding down.

Monmouth opens Midwest Conference play this weekend, hosting St. Norbert and Ripon.
