Sommer Foster scored the Scots' lone run in Game 1 on an inside-the-park homer. Alyssa Edler took over from there, fanning 11 batters - two shy of the school record - as the Scots entered the bottom of the seventh with a 1-0 lead. Monmouth's lead evaporated after Grinnell put their first two runners on and a base hit drove in the winning run for the 2-1 Pioneer win.

Taylor Smith surrended just two hits and one run in the nightcap, a 2-1 Monmouth win. Kelsey Barnes drove in Kaitlyn Winkler with the first run of the game with a base hit in the second inning. Emily Watkins' homerun to lead off the fourth gave Smith all the cushion she would need. Much like Game 1, the Pioneers threatened in the seventh, putting their first batter on and then scoring with two outs. With the tying run on third and the winning run on second, Smith induced a groundout to short to end the game.
