It was a top 16 finish for the Monmouth College women's cross country team which wrapped up their season in Wisconsin placing 16th in a field of nearly 40 teams at the NCAA Midwest Regional while the Scots' men ran to a 24th place finish.
     Junior
Joanna Podosek led the Scots' women with a Monmouth honor 6K roll time on the Lake Breeze course in Winneconne, Wis. Her 22:51.85 placed her 38th in the field of more than 260 women.
Caitlyn Allen and
Kate Saulcy ran a tight two-person pack, clocking a 23:25.35 and 23:42.30, respectively. A 24:05.97 placed
Jessica Salinas as Monmouth's No. 4 runner while
Kelci Foss (24:46.29) and
Amy Wollenburg (25:04.60) were 5-6.
Katelynn Propes rounded out the women's scoring with a 26:24.90.
     Monmouth's men ran a three-man pack for their top three finishers in the 8K race. A 26:45.6 placed
Cooper Pauley in 100th position as the Scots' No. 1 runner.
Bryent Van De Wostine was just 20 seconds behind with a 27:05.1 while
Tate Heiple crossed just behind his teammates with a 27:10.5.
Tyler Bland led the final four for the men, clocking a 27:25.9 while
Jay Gray posted a 28:02.4.
Tanner Heiple (28:41.6) and
Joe Stewart (29:04.0) completed the men's scoring seven.
     The team return to competition in January with the start of the indoor track and field season.
