Once a powerhouse on the Midwest Conference softball scene, the Fighting Scots had fallen on tough times in the 1990s. Sherilyn Daniels keyed a return to prominence for the Scots, pitching them to three postseason appearances in her four years and two-runner-up finishes in the Midwest Conference.

Daniels was given plenty of opportunities to exert her influence, starting a school-record 74 games (out of a possible 120). She went the distance 66 times while pitching a school-record 505 innings. Daniels’ win total of 37 was second in school history at the time of her induction, and her tidy ERA of 2.00 was ranked third. She was at her best in that department as a sophomore, posting a 1.59 ERA and earning the first of her two All-MWC honors.

The righthander from Geneseo ended her career in style, pitching the Scots to back-to-back shutout wins in the 1999 conference playoffs, including a 1-0 four-hitter against Carroll.
