Gordon Huber, who came to Monmouth from nearby Victoria, won three varsity letters in basketball while playing for coach Bobby Woll. He starred on the Midwest Conference basketball championship team of 1942-43, a team which won 11 of 12 leagues games – its only loss a one-point decision to Beloit. Huber averaged 14.8 points a game and was said to be the best offensive player in Monmouth College history up to that time. In a 39-27 win over arch-rival Knox College, for example, Huber poured in 24 of his team’s points. He was a unanimous All-Midwest Conference selection that season.

Since 1972, Huber has been executive vice president of International Dairy Queen, Inc. He began working for the company in 1953.
