Donovan Hunter, a 6-foot-9 center, led the Fighting Scots to a Midwest Conference championship and an NCAA regional playoff appearance during the 1973-74 basketball season. During that magical year, Hunter was a first team All-MWC selection and also received all-state, Illinois College All-Star and an honorable mention All-American recognition.
During his MC basketball career, Hunter averaged 13 points, 13 rebounds, four blocked shots, and three steals per game. Hunter and company posted a record of 44-19 during his final three seasons, culminating with an 18-5 mark during his senior year.
Hunter signed a contract with the Boston Celtics and later played professional basketball in Europe and South America before going on to a successful business career.
