Until Ann Jamieson came along, the Monmouth College basketball 1,000-point club had been exclusively male. But Jamieson’s career put her name in the record books as the first female athlete to reach that prestigious milestone.
Jamieson played basketball all four years and was an all-conference selection each year. She was the team captain her junior and senior years, and 56-percent field goal shooting one season ranked her sixth in the nation.
She was also a four-year letterwinner on the MC softball team, again earning four straight All-MWC honors.
Jamieson went on to teach and coach in Aledo, Ill.
